rare hikari_no_yume fact: we never read weather forecasts, ever, and find basically any kind of weather enjoyable and exciting

this is perhaps a product of always having lived in relatively temperate climates (the uk and southern sweden), places where you do not have to prepare too hard for harsh weather because the temperature swings are always pretty survivable, but it's also a personality trait

it might, dare we say, be a necessary personality trait if you happen to have bipolar disorder, but we won't speculate too much there

i think we could literally have rain on our wedding day and we wouldn't even mind. i'm sure the other guests would though!

the rain is about as wonderful to us as sunny clear days. granted the latter is a lot easier to deal with and allows you to spend more time outside and in more comfort. it's not lost on us why certain kinds of weather are “lovely”, and we do love them, but we love the others too

i think the only thing we really struggle with during the winter is that going running outside is a lot less practical and comfortable, and sometimes simply not safe at all (when the paths and roads ice over). but we have, on occasion, managed to do it anyway. we like living.

our weirdest trait here is probably not owning a waterproof jacket; whenever it rains outside and we have to go somewhere, we put on a thick layer that is not in any way waterproof and allow ourselves to get soaked, but the thickness still keeps our body temperature okay

we're not going to claim this “means anything” but we hope it's interesting at least, maybe a little insightful

hmm, said “thick layer” might be a little waterproof by accident of the internal lining being some synthetic material? shrug. it's definitely not meant to be waterproof, it's a jacket of the soft rather than shiny variety
