🇳🇱 will end up like atlantis, because it has a housing crisis; if you aren't constantly building enough new homes, it doesn't just ruin the lives of young people and create stupid levels of inequality, it also hollows out the construction industry, and they'll need new dams soon
🇯🇵 doesn't have this problem because they have over millennia gotten used to the fact they are a river squeezed between the very angry mountains and it is an engrained cultural assumption that homes are temporary, flimsy, cheap, transient things to rebuild every few decades
because, you know, they have an irritating habit of being spontaneously demolished
