jump to expanded postall narratives are false, at all times, forever, never forget this; all things can only be truly understood by regarding them from multiple perspectives; each perspective is its own lie
your memory is only as trustworthy as your ability to remember the caveats and consider them carefully
there is no sane person who doesn't delude themselves, and there is no insane person who is totally deluded
there are, always and forever, more things in heaven and earth than exist in your philosophy
these are such fundamental beliefs of hikari_no_yume that absolutely nothing can be learned of her mental state at any particular time by seeing them tweeted, unless, i suppose, they suddenly are full of especially bad grammatical and spelling errors maybe
i do suspect something happened to us in 2023/2024. we have always been rather open-minded, after all we love learning languages, and that's a fundamentally mind-opening experience, but there was something that made the open-mindedness fully entrench itself in us philosophically
what we think happened was, a manic arc at the end of 2023 threw us immediately into the tpot/ratsphere, which we'd previously been almost existentially terrified of. and then we had the manic hubris thing for a bit of thinking the rats might be right about everything, y'knowโฆ
upon calming down afterwards and coming to our senses, one way to process that would be to totally reject it all, right? that's a valid way to deal with it, we won't begrudge it. but we realised instead that having a foot in one world, a foot in the other, is so much healthier.
because it turns out that once you realise that the world is not a thing that should be viewed through just one perspective, or just a handful, but rather instead something that is beautiful because of the diversity of perspectives and things, you don'tโฆ want to lose that, yeah?
we definitely allow ourselves the liberty of having the hubris to think some perspectives might be more correct than others; there are of course perspectives in which we are a Cursed Thing That Must Not Exist, for example, which we aren't fond of; there are ones that kill us
but once you learn the โtrickโ of viewing the world from many perspectives, it's really mind-opening because suddenly, it is not a threat to understand your opponent, it is interesting; suddenly, you can understand people you never could before; you become an information omnivore
and you mustn't lose yourself too much in this. you must maintain the hubris of thinking you do know better. you must keep it in check, of course. but without that hubris, you stop being a human, and start being some other thing we have no interest in being.
hikari_no_yume has no intention of becoming the Data Time Thought Integration Entity, or whatever the hell the thing Nagato Yuki from Haruhi is an agent of is called. hikari_no_yume wants to be, you know, a half-decent programmer who watches anime and makes little art projects
but if you have the luxury of being able to maintain that kind of mindset without it killing you, both in moments of complete sanity and less so, the world is a lot more colourful, and that's whyโฆ that's why we're Like This.
i guess this is a thing we're going to be tweeting in one form or another, as a little thread, probably likeโฆ every month or every few months. we already have over the years. it's a recurring line of thought! it comes out different every time. it'sโฆ a gemstone with many facets
all things must be viewed from many perspectives, including โall things must be viewed from many perspectivesโ
and i guess that about wraps this up for now, until we inevitably tweet the same thing next week or something
