Shoutout to our bank for having the worst fucking default on that too, we really hate how it always schedules the payment for the last possible day it can be paid, rather sending it immediately: do you want us to get slapped with a “reminder fee” if our balance is low that day?
Why does the entire world want you to drown yourself in debt all the time. I mean we know why, but still.
@hikari I feel like the UK financial regulators are some of the only in the world who actively attempt to get the banks not to drown their customers in debt by regulating fees, overdrafts, and how direct debits are applied
not perfect, but every time I hear about what banks elsewhere in the world get away with regularly I am horrified
@scarlet I think the CFPB was something like this for the US for a brief, beautiful moment in time, but we all know how US politics can't sustain any beautiful thing for long, and indeed it couldn't.
