new reason ai summaries suck: they will insert gendered pronouns that aren't there in the source material and misgender trans women friends in the search results when you search for their website
and the worst thing is this isn't google, it's duckduckgo… you were the chosen one :'(
good god we had not considered just how violent ai is in this particular way. the search engines are starting to rob independent creative people of the right to assert their own identity in their own words. a thing that defined the web, that made it special, is now under threat
@hikari unrelated, but i found an article one day that talked about my research and quoted a comment about me from reddit, but corrected (with brackets) the pronouns in the quote to the correct ones
that made me feel happy
@rebane2001 that makes me glad, because tragically enough, the person who i was searching the name of was you (purely curiosity about the origin of the name, but you happen to be the entity with the best SEO for that name)
