not a pleasant topic to dwell on, but those who wonder why USians in particular are so weird about male circumcision would do well to bear in mind it's like the only western country where something like half the AMAB population have gotten it without being Jewish or Muslim???

i was gonna say “non-religious” as a shorthand for “not Jewish or Muslim” but i had to avoid that because i do have a suspicion it's the fucking Puritans' fault, it's always the fucking Puritans' fault, they were driven out of England for a good fucking reason, we're so sorry :(
