jump to expanded postat some point we turned from reclusive shut-in nerds into⦠still fairly reclusive nerds, but of the kind who think going on long walks and listening to music and playing guitar and generally appreciating the little things in life and having friends is the most important thing
and we won't claim it's deeply meaningful, but apparently if we weren't like this we'd be so much less healthy at this point my god, whenever we get out of the habit of doing these kinds of things for whatever reason, our body starts suffering
i think to some extent our life used to give us just enough of these things for us to not go insane, but we had to spend a long time learning that you can't be passive about it, you have to actively seek this out to have a good life, otherwise a few bad weeks and you're in misery
workaholism kills you regardless of whether the work is self-inflicted or not
we got here in a very roundabout way of course. i don't think most people discover that exercise is good for you by a combination of a year of covid work-from-home and an overwhelmingly strong self-identification with an anime girl who's really good at running and basketball
