Linux will remain a joke of a platform so long as people think shit like “statically linking and/or bundling graphics drivers with apps” is a sensible distribution practice

@hikari it's gonna be unavoidable in many cases as long as vendors ship linux systems with massively-outdated core libraries (or lacking the userspace components of driver stacks altogether)

there've also been some big ABI compat misses (eg VAAPI broke ABI with 2.0, which meant bundling drivers was pretty much unavoidable during that transition)
