unfortunately I then discovered that I have an opportunity to get a certain notable discontinued budget amp used, one which has several particularly desirable features, and now I have spent far too long listening to recordings of amp tones and have guitar tone semantic satiation

in the course of doing far too much research about the vox pathfinder 15r we found out that you can actually just buy spring reverb tanks, they're an interchangeable standardised part. they're also fairly cheap. i kinda want to build my own spring reverb pedal now

future hikari_no_yume guitar setup probably looks like

sd-1 → ds-1 (→ big muff?) → pathfinder 10

recording with usb mic or headphone out into ms-80ir+ with a suitable ir loaded

and there's the mu1000 if we want to gaze it up with stereo multi−effects

the nice thing about this setup is that all the gain stages and the most important controls stay in the analogue realm, and uh… well, we could've done that already with the boss mg-10, but it's just not a very inspiring amp it must be said. i have higher hopes for the pathfinder

we will be getting a pathfinder 10 sometime next week and I am honestly quite excited, I just have a feeling it's going to be a more fun than what we've been using up to this point
