this is very comforting
amazing how much white noise can sound like the wind and the rain with just a little filtering, and how persistent the illusion is. constantly fiddling with the knobs only enhances it
@hikari pink and brown noises are often found in nature, for reasons i do not at all understand
incidentally, brown noise is what happens when you take a random walk and then record it and play it back,
and the frequency spectrum of this random walk turns out to be like white noise filtered down by 6dB every octave
other filters make it sound like other things though, for reasons i also don't understand
@hikari (try to set strict treble limits for yourself personally though, musical mixes obey certain conventions but your synthesizer will do whatever you tell it to do, even if that would rapidly wreck your hearing, so)
