there was a news story about a golden eagle attacking someone's dogs, and so I thought, that can't be the first time that's happened, I wonder if anyone has filmed it
so I go on YouTube and search ”kungsörn hund”
and the results are just endless AI slop. it was horrifying
but then when I repeat the search in english, to my astonishment it's full of real results
does the slop spam have auto-translation enabled, unlike the real content? do shorts have different auto-translation behaviour? god only knows. none of the slop was in swedish
the ai age is really making life horrible for the non-monolingual. why are you taking this from me. it hurts. I don't want to live in the world where only the english-language internet remains usable
@hikari I remember about a decade ago reading a couple articles about Google's search spam filtering being vastly worse in languages other than English.
