jump to expanded postman i think i would like to have an instrument that feels like the Rock Band 3 Stratocaster but isn't the Rock Band 3 Stratocaster because that thing is a museum piece and i would feel bad if i play it too often and wear down the frets too much, because they can never be replaced
also it only has a bridge pickup which is a real shame
goddamnit this thing is so much brighter, i think i actually like the bridge pickup sound on this
Rock Band 3 Strat vs FMT HH Tele (latter in bridge position, split-coil). the pedal I switch on in the middle is a Big Muff ฯ
this sounds super harsh recorded, maybe i need to adjust the mic positionโฆ
closemic'd
less gain, more arpeggiation, not closemic'd
perhaps Sor Hands is right to troll electric guitarists by saying all electric guitars sound exactly the same
I think what I want to do is get cheap Squier strat second-hand at some point, and it can be a โproject guitarโ
project guitar meaning that if shit sucks then I'm fixing it myself and learning in the process, and also meaning that I might want to do some adventurous things like fucking with the wiring or doing a total refinishing of the body
ergonomic factors i'm interested in are contoured body (nicer for the picking arm to rest on), light weight (tele heavy), 9.5" fingerboard radius (our tele has an absurd nearly 16" radius and this is troublesome when we only play barre chords), and satin neck (tele's is glossy)
the output jack on the front panel is cool too although it only occasionally actually matters if i'm being honest
