ooh I might have managed to bandage our hand in such a way it won't unravel (both the start and the end of the bandage are tucked under that tight running jacket sleeve), and that it covers even the thumb… excited to see if this works!!

btw someone in here (not sure if it was or was not me) bought this dark purple-red (🍇?) zip-up running jacket late last year because it reminded us of the hoodie i wore during Shinobu Mail, and omg this thing is so good in summer. it has zip-up outer pockets and inner pockets

this means it has enough storage to replace our backpack for many simple outings, including such things as "i'm headed to the psychiatric emergency room and need my ID, medications, and phone charger on me in addition to my keys", and it's all secure enough for well… running

and it doesn't really keep you warm in the way a hoodie would. we were cursing that during the winter but the solution is simple: wear a hoodie on top. in warm spring weather though? perfect. absolutely perfect. i wonder how it'll hold up in summer…

having to carry our coat around is the biggest obstacle to running in winter. having to carry our backpack around is the biggest obstacle to running everywhere in the warmer months. this thing is… not a gamechanger but it will be a significant improvement. thank you past hikari

for the record I did notice myself saying "so good in summer" and "i wonder how it will hold up in summer", which are obviously contradictory. this is because I tend to view winter and summer as the only true seasons, with the other two being transitions, and it's warm out rn ^^;
