you ever wake up in an unfamiliar place with amnesia and then immediately get asked if you want to enroll in the ใๆญปใใงใใพใใๆฆ็ทใ by a sniper rifle-wielding colour-swapped suzumiya haruhi?
wow there's a choice right in the first scene โ yurippe is trying to convince you that you're dead, and you have what appears to be the option to believe her or not to believe her.
i think this'll be more interesting if i choose not to, so let's see how that goesโฆ
a lot of this is because we're reading through it at a quite slow pace (we have to look up a lot of words, including ones we supposedly already know), but the feeling of the opening feels so different in text with this looping mysterious background music. cool VN feel I guess
reading through this opening scene at such a slow pace with the dramatic music is really emphasising how haruhi-like and ridiculous yurippe is
oh god there's another choice. I wonder if it's possible to wind yurippe up enough that she gives up on you immediately and you get a bad end or something. that would be fun
anyway I think this is where I'll stop for today. I'm having fun!
We return to the Angel Beats VNโฆ
I am choosing to continue down the path of disbelieving Yuri, because we did want to see what happens.
Oh, that's interesting, if you try to just move past her, she hits you with the fact that doing ordinary school life things (classes, club activities, tests) will cause you to disappear.
As I discovered the other day from rewatching the first episode of the anime, the BGM in this scene is exactly the same as the equivalent scene in the anime. But it feels very different, hearing it looping over and over, with choices. Of course, we're reading it very slowlyโฆ
@hikari Maeda Jun is good at what he does ^^
@h0m54r Did you typo something in this sentence?
@h0m54r Ah, you did, and you fixed it.
He sure is. I was trying to learn Crow Song the other day and realised that it must have been composed by the same person as Brave Song (the ED), because the melody is quite similar, and sure enough, both were his work.
