I had a dream where I was at a Swedish administrative agency called ”Centrala Mediestödsnämnden” where an unfriendly bureaucrat quizzed me on my mechanical engineering knowledge and determined I hadn't learned anything from my state-funded education and would have to pay it back
I also found out in this dream that because I hadn't paid attention to the rise in interest rates, my debt to the state was now significantly higher than the initial amount borrowed, even though I had made significant payments
Anyway I'm not a mechanical engineer and the reason I couldn't remember the answers to mechanical engineering questions in the dream turns out to be that I never actually took a mechanical engineering course in real life, which does make sense
I'm not sure how our brain came up with this new government agency. The name is obviously a fusion of CSN and Mediestödsnämnden, but in the dream I knew it was not CSN. I think we were actually imagining Arbetsförmedlingen but our brain gave it a totally new name for some reason.
Oh right, in the dream I successfully pointed out that I couldn't possibly have gotten state funding for this course, because I am an immigrant and hadn't worked in Sweden prior, and work is a qualification for the course.
This gotcha wouldn't work in real life because of the EU
I correctly remembered in the dream that EU citizens can count residence/work in another EU country when applying for things… but then the thought process went “but this is not CSN, this is [totally not Arbetsförmedlingen], that doesn't apply”, which is probably wrong IRL
no, I have no idea why I dreamed about all this
today I go to an anime convention in “cosplay”
