I need to shoegaze
I tried to shoegaze and when I found a pair of alternating chords that sounded good (12-10-12-11-x-x and 7576xx, alternatively 77577x and 22022x) I realised those sound too good, this is definitely a song we already know, and sure enough it was honeydip summer's gone ^^;;;
aaaaaa it fits over my go-to maj7 shape too (10-10-9-11-x-x and 5546xx), which was the first chord I was playing with before I stumbled on that other one. I can't escape this fucking song
ah, is it perhaps an alternating Em7 (7757xx) and Dmaj7 (5546xx)? (I am not trying to figure out the fingerings, the ones given are just a reference for what I played)
chords are a land of ambiguity
a puzzle I am trying to figure out is how
12-10-12-11-x-x -> 7576xx (just one shape transposed)
and
7757xx -> 5546xx (two different shapes)
sound almost the same to me.
I think part of this is the 7576xx shape being ambiguous, it has no fifth and both minor and major thirds
