looks like i woke up in 2013 again. shin sekai yori and madoka magica are recent and important pieces of media to me. my favourite haruhi character is koizumi itsuki. i have some j-rock thing going on.

“‘directionally correct’ is a very ratsphere way to say ‘wrong’.”
“well, it means more specifically Less Wrong,”
“like having many words for snow, rats have a lot of different words for ‘wrong’”
OH: “coups are fun. but i have a quota: only two coups a year”
i am still so happy about how i designed the touchHLE app compatibility database nyeheheheh. i did long-term planning for how to keep the file size reasonable and despite it now containing hundreds of compatibility reports and screenshots, the entire database is 12MB in size :3

purpose is more than a little bit intoxicating because there can be an undeniable truth to it. i threw away an incredibly enjoyable career and a Lot of money (haha oops >.>) to make that happen and my playing the long game is starting to work out. i could die penniless and happy

i have this suspicion that this is deliberate because it's somehow more expensive for google to serve you videos from youtube's long tail. it feels like this whenever you try to dig deep into an obscure topic

its very cool that youtube is the largest collection of video footage ever assembled and it's borderline impossible to search. rocking up to the library of alexandria and the guy keeps showing you the same three scrolls and standing in your way if you try to look at anything else
incidentally i wonder how many others know about this other experience [feeling one is the size of the universe when falling asleep] i'm referring to here. it used to be extremely common for me. when i found out about “alice in wonderland syndrome” it was revelatory; i extremely don't have that syndrome but i recognised the described effect https://social.noyu.me/@hikari/statuses/01JB4B1ZJ9PR8K0YJH8ZSHGR7G
you ever suddenly start feeling like you're viewing the world through very subtle tilt-shift photography?
