i think trying to learn guitar is going to make me end up appreciating guitar-heavy music more and not just in a marvelling at the skill etc way. it's also that, like, suddenly i am spending long periods of time listening to nothing but the guitar; i'll get used to the tone

oh my god, if you buy a modern steinberg (aka yamaha) usb audio interface it has a built-in yamaha effect processor with an adorably⦠2000's-yamaha-software ui for controlling it
aaah man i cannot tell you what is wrong or why but these IEMs like the output of my ~professional~ usb audio interface (the kind made for musicians, not for audiophiles) whereas they sound noticeably worse on every device i have that has a 3.5mm output :(
