i see myself headed towards a point where i kind of hate music notation, not because of notation itself, but because i can trust my ears, whereas i can't trust the people responsible for what's before my eyes

machine heads for a guitar (the things that hold the strings and allow you to tune them) are such delightful little metal objects to hold in your hands when they haven't been mounted yet

if i get into luthiery i'll probably eventually make a solid body electric guitar with no electric

i don't have a horse in the israel–iran war but i will say that the kufic script in the current iranian flag kicks ass, whereas the old flag was nothing exceptional as flags go. the ☫ is real pretty too. this is a nonpolitical vexillological opinion
