suddenly very curious how bad the amp simulations on 1990's general midi modules with guitar inputs were

yamaha's did, yeah! one of the defining features of the MU series. the QY100 has one also
i have what are probably some of the earlier versions of these simulations that i can play with, but not with a real guitar, just with the internal synthesis, which is obviously more than a bit limiting.
okay so now i have another excuse for getting a MU100…

(yelling at roland 25 years ago) put a guitar/mic input on the sound canvas series you cowards!!! ok it would cannibalise your boss products but we all know it would rule
@hikari as someone who is *way* more used to hearing synths rather than real instruments, that example (and also even the janky Karplus–Strong we built for university) sound fine?
