say what you will about the accuracy of twitter's language detection, as an ACTUALLY BILINGUAL PERSON i have fucking had it with your terrible manual tagging systems that treat SPEAKING MORE THAN ONE LANGUAGE as an exotic use case like we aren't HALF THE FUCKING PLANET

@hikari@social.noyu.me usually your browser exposes your preferred language to websites. that either is set on the os, or browser level. If there is multiple, it usually chooses the first one.
No idea if gotosocial actually does that though

should still be able to change it in the settings, but thats not the question
What do you display in if you have no default languange?
just an empty interface, and a language selector?
@4censord sorry if you are actually bilingual and do not understand why it is incredibly frustrating and painful to be forced to constantly classify my own posts by language and not be able to opt out then i don't know what to tell you. have a nice day
