hmm i think it's time for a touchHLE day for the first time in a while. as a warmup i think i might finally implement rounded corners in the compositor

excited to learn how to use texture combiners for this project because of course the touchHLE compositor runs on OpenGL ES 1.1, fixed-function baby!

rounded corners progress, this is not the intended result obviously but it does look kinda cool in its own right

this is kind of cool too (this is the result of a very simple arithmetic mistake)

the amount of overdraw on those UISwitch controls would be enough to kill a graphics optimisation engineer (and is also a hint towards answering the riddle of why the corners look wrong on the left side of the ON switch and the right side of the OFF switch, a bug i'll fix later)

graphics programming is so much fun there's so many interesting ways to fuck up

i laboured long and hard in the graphics mines, chasing the “i can't believe they're not signed distance functions”, the “off-by-one errors” and the “fractional pixel offsets”, and after all that work, app icons finally look good in touchHLE, as the gods intended ^^

that glossy sheen may look simple, but it's full of subtleties! it took a lot of iterating (and debugging :<) to get it to look good enough
