jump to expanded postoh my god the left-handed mouse button setting is broken in KDE Plasma on Debian 13?????? come on please i really wanted to believe KDE would actually be good
that one actually takes the cake, it immediately makes the entire desktop environment feel hostile, fuck this, I'm not even going to try
oh my fucking god it's because there are multiple overlapping devices in the drop-down list and you have to somehow know that โLogitech USB Receiver Mouseโ doesn't do anything and โLogitech M315/M235โ does. for reference I've only ever connected a single USB Logitech mouse
okay so do the KDE people make some but not all of the GNOME bundled apps not show up in their start menu equivalent just to be petty or what
/usr/share/applications/org.gnome.Terminal.desktop is right there, next to /usr/share/applications/org.kde.konsole.desktop, so one would expect it to be findable from KDE's start menu, but only Konsole is. were they upset it'd rank higher for "Terminal"? come the fuck on :/
aaahahaha I fucking knew it, there is a concept of a "hidden entry" in the KDE menu and they even hide them from you by default when you use the KDE Menu Editor, so that you don't see what they did. this is ridiculous
โฆwait, removing the hidden entry flag still isn't enough? the app still won't show up in the KDE start menu? what the fuck
okay I am being told that .desktop files can contain an OnlyShowIn whitelist of which desktop environments should show them, so it's either a GNOME or a Debian decision, and that does make some sense but man I don't like the Linux desktop experience
