@hikari as far as I can tell, if you want a microSD slot, a good IP rating, and a high-end CPU on a current-gen phone, your choices are... basically two Sony models and that's it?

meanwhile, if I was going to use a massive amount of on-device storage, there's a decent chance it'd be to shoot high-quality video, where I'd want a high-end camera (further limiting options) and very fast write speeds (which can easily outpace even the fastest microSD cards)

how is the market this bad this can't be real

i feel like at some point you gotta move stuff off the device's internal storage though, and you'd have an easier time if you can just move it to a microSD card or something inside the phone

@hikari ...and yet, for reasons I struggle to comprehend, Google is killing off microsd storage. The feature is missing on pretty much all of the top of the line phones, and becoming more and more difficult to use in software.
Some of their security and performance reasons have some validity, but I still desire the feature! Especially when MTP is a hellish nightmare to use, especially for larger collections.

All the reasons to avoid Apple phones are now arriving on Android phones. 😠
