jump to expanded postthe screenshot and the “““typing quirk””” are a hint as to what i am doing this is fantastically fun so far
holy shit it's so pretty
if ritsu wanted me to join a band i don't think i could refuse
watching k-on's first episode without subtitles has very much slowed down the experience but i have been having a good time i can tell you that
cool things about learning japanese by looking up words one by one and adding them to an anki deck: the order they're presented in becomes a hint as to their meaning if you remember how the episode went
btw coolest things i learned so far were:
- as a germanic language (/s) japanese has a word for everything. it not only has a noun for “dissolution of a club” (廃部) but also “on the verge of dissolution of a club” (廃部寸前)
- there's an ateji for クラブ ENDING IN 部 (倶楽部)
- oh, 入部希望者 is a fantastic one too. join-club-{prospect/hope}-er. hanzi really is unrivalled for word formation potential. move over germany
it's easy to learn japanese by watching anime. first just have already learned all the kana and the principles of the grammar fifteen years ago, and have been slowly acquiring bits and pieces over the years, but be someone who can't follow a course plan to save her own life,
tragically one of the main things i'm learning is that i hate anki's ui
me trying not to seem out of place around my far more musically literate friends
@hikari I never realised until now that ritsu didn't have a floor tom
@shift_reset oh yeah. the drumkit looks so… slim
@hikari According to someone on the internet (the k-on wiki), it appears to be based on the rick marotta signature kit. This kit is interesting because it was designed so that all the other drums fit in the bass drum for transport, so yeah, it is about as slim as you could really get.
